I'm alive I'm alive!

It is true! I am still here! Drowning in house paperwork but still here! So you may think this isn't much, but for how crazy busy it has been this is happy times for me :) I finally added something to TPT!! *applause* I forgot how long it takes to prep something for TPT even though its 1 bloomin page! Doesn't matter, I am proud of myself, mainly because I was supposed to use this holiday break time creating and uploading idea after idea...didn't work out as such. It is a start. Once we get settled I will set up my station and start creating again! I have so many things just sitting on my zip drive waiting to be uploaded but I have to make them all "cutsified" and add credits and such. So I know ya'll are just dying to see my 1 page wonder haha....

Merry Christmas!! For today a savior has been born!

Just wanted to stop by from my phone and say Merry Merry Christmas!!!! I hope everyone's day has been blessed and you've been able to celebrate the reason for the season.  Will be blogging again soon, very hectic round these parts lately, let's just say I've been knee deep in packing boxes;) my plans for working on school items and playing with my new Sillouette is on hold for now.
I also have a new puppy niece;) photo bombing. Her name is Lulu, isn't she so cute!!!

Remembering Sandy Hook

As educators, we remember and honor our fallen colleagues and their students from Sandy Hook School. We honor them each day in our classrooms in which we continue their dream of teaching our children. We honor their memory with our service.

Join with teachers everywhere in committing random acts of kindness to show our love for Sandy Hook.

Five for Friday!!!!

Linking up this chilly Friday night with Doodle Bugs and the Five for Friday!!

We have been plugging away at place value! Always a difficult concept for the little's.

Ok so this is an OCD nightmare! Seriously! My sister sent me an email the other day with the link to a website for pictures that will irritate your ocd..it was quite funny to see which things really do get me! So as my kiddos were playing their place value game they pulled out two cards and said "These cards are cut!" I almost crawled out of my skin! haha! I mean really?! After working so hard cutting, laminating and cutting again, to find THIS? Well I let them continue playing, obviously my OCD hasn't rubbed off on those two kids because they were just fine working this those awful excuse for cards :P I thought long and hard...remake them? its only one set....I decided against it at the moment since I am already drowning with things to do before we leave for break...I guarantee you though those cards will be redone! :P Ain't nobody got time for ugly uneven cards!

Over Thanksgiving we went to my in-laws and my hubby's niece who is 7 came down to visit. She LOVES our little dog Socky. They bond every time and he gets to soak up all the attention! They played on the IPAD together, so sweet!

Does this explain how I feel? I am sure we all feel this way...so many things to do this time of the year and such little time to fit it all in. I LOVE Christmas time, but at school its crazy town. Thankfully we have an amazing admin team to let us wear jeans and holiday wear until Christmas break AND provides some treats to us daily for the last 12 days!!! UH-MAZ-ING.

And finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yahoo!!! I can not wait to bust into this bad boy and get creative! Although I hate reading instruction manuals because I am impatient and want to create at the push of a button. I hope it is pretty easy to get going...any advice? :)

Well I hope ya'll have a BLESSED weekend and keep your spirits up, the break is almost here!!!

I am Thankful!

I am linking up with Lucky to be in First for the Thankful Thread!

Here it goes:

1. God- well where would I be without him? He is the reason I am alive and get to partake in these daily activities. He has bestowed so many blessing on me, it is hard to just be thankful one month out of the year. Try as I might, being human I don't always remember to give thanks to the ONE who is my strong tower. THANKFULLY, he gave us his son to forgive us of those short comings and LOVES  us daily no matter what!

2. Hubbster- once again, I don't always remember to tell him I am thankful for him. If it wasn't for the #1 above I wouldn't  have had the opportunity to meet and go on this journey of life with my #2. I need to say it to him daily!

3. Family- LOVE and ADORE them! Always have and always will. I am so very thankful I was blessed with amazing parents who helped raise me with moral compass and compassion. Sissypoo for torturing me as a child :P haha j.k and a BIL (brother in law) who accepts our circus :) My nanny who has always loved me!

4. Friends- my true blue's who have been there for good times, bad times, and times in between. Being able to have friends who keep me grounded and accountable. I have always been the type to have those few really strong relationships that can stand the test of time, even when you get married, get a real job, graduate, pay bills, and have a chaotic life! They are the ones I can fall off the face of the earth for a bit and call or text and it is like we never let life get in the way.

5. Doggies- Really? look at those sweet pups, who wouldn't be thankful for those babies :P

6. Everything else! I can't even list all my thankfulness :)

So as I type I realize it has been awhile since I blogged. Time has gotten away from me! But Hallelujah, here is our short and sweet Thanksgiving break!  Just in time! There was a moment today I didn't think we'd make it out with our sanity ha!
Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks of my hiatus!

Love it! I laminated this cute lil sign (can't remember where I found it ) and through the month of November I have each kiddo write what they are thankful for and sign it. I display it on the wall so others can see their thankfulness as well :) (name is whited out to protect the innocent) Isn't she innocent? Love what she wrote. I do believe this came after we had been discussing what it means to be patriotic and veterans day etc.

A hump day gift from a cutie! She said "Just because you are a great teacher"
Talk about helping to get me through the week.

Speaks for itself- this kid is so creative!!! Adore seeing this happen in the classroom! Love imagination.

Well I am working on A LOT of goodies to add to the lil TPT store soon! I never have time to complete it and put it all together during the week or even the weekends so my plan is to work like crazy over Christmas break! Can't wait to upload some more! More to come soon!

I hope everyone has a BLESSED Thanksgiving!!!

Five for Fabulous Friday!

Can someone say TGIF! I feel like I say that every Friday, but for real, this Friday TGIF....really...
I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for the weekly Five for Friday.

http://doodlebugsteaching.blogspot.com/

Sweet kiddo made me a picture today and attached a "hanitizer" with owls on the label :)

It is the first day of November and I put out all the Thanksgiving/Fall books!!! YEEHAWW! The kids were in awe. They have to earn coupons to be able to read the books from this shelf. If I catch them using their reading strategies throughout the day I hand them a coupon I made and laminated and they can turn it in at their leisure (not teaching time) and go choose a teacher read :)

Bit 'O Organization- since we are doing writers workshop, I put out the different papers they can use and put labels on binder clips with how many lines each paper has (sorry you may not be able to see the writing on the pink labels) It says things like: "2 lines, 3 lines, 6 lines etc)
I color coded the sight words I let them use during daily five with the ones on the word wall. So far I have 1st and 2nd nine weeks on each ring. Each nine weeks I will add another set. They can grab these to take with them when they do word work. They also have the word wall to use as well as a list I typed up in their Word Study spirals.

It was red ribbon week around these parts and we  had different themes each day...I only got a picture of crazy sock day...we also had superhero day for Halloween (I wore batman gear), hat day, crazy hair day, and team jersey day.

It was also raining a lot this week so we finally got to go outside today which was nice they needed to run off all the sugar they had last night. I still haven't decided if teaching the day OF Halloween is crazier or the day after when they are in sugar hangovers.

On Thursday, the day I sported bat gear, it was raining cats and dogs (or as I put it on Facebook,      "I was Noah's Ark'n it to work") when I pulled up to work at 6:45am...I didn't have an umbrella either due to the fact we gave it to a homeless man....so I had to run like crazy to get to the door and in the pitch dark, mind you, with my cape trailing behind, I felt like I needed the batman theme song playing while I ran, (dun nun na na na na na na na na na.....)

I have big plans for my Thanksgiving break, NOTHING....I can't wait to relax, I know it's still weeks away but I am so excited for the Fall and holidays!! I LOVE this time of year, I think I might convince the hubby to help me put up Christmas d├ęcor this weekend.....yes call me Hobby Lobby (they always have it up SO soon) but I love seeing it and being able to enjoy it, because it does go fast! I also can't wait to RACK others as well!! (Random Acts of Christmas Kindness) I normally try to do that all year but with the Christmas season it makes it so much fun! I also want to make sure my hubby and I are able to really spread the real "reason for the season" throughout as well, and help others see Christ's love and blessings. Ok so I am really jumping ahead ha! I must be ready!

I hope ya'll have an amazing and BLESSED weekend!!

My Truth Monday!

Yes, you are reading that clearly...Monday! I am actually posting on a school night, and of all days a Manic Monday! I finished some to-do's and wanted to take a break to do something else, related to school still, imagine....Hubby is playing Skyrim so I figured instead of doing the wifely thing of, oh maybe, making dinner I'd blog! HA! Sandwiches or eggs....or egg sandwiches...it is tonight.

I am linking up with Sunny Days in Second Grade for My Truth Monday...

Ya'll have a BLESSED  week!

"And now dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise"

Craziness in tha hood!

Craziness sums up last week! I feel like I fell off the blogging wagon for a bit. Last week was a short week since we were off for Columbus day. We had to work and I got to host one of the sessions for my school's in-service! It was awesome!!! My topic was "Classroom Organization" totally so not me right??? Bahaha! I was asked by my principal and felt soooo honored she would ask me to share my OCD skills with others. Being able to be organized as a teacher has helped me really have more time to focus on teaching and the kids. I was so scared no one would show up to my sessions but it ended up being like 55 people! Woohoo!

Last week being a short week we also had to get grades done for the nine weeks. So that was craziness trying to get it all in on time and make sure you were still teaching deep.
Parent conferences are also in full swing so that has also been on the full buffet platter.
Needless to say, I was exhausted this weekend and looking forward to the short Thanksgiving break around the corner.

This weekend was full as well! We had a garage sale on Saturday morning and I spent the morning typing lesson plans, grading papers, putting grades in, cleaning etc...
My hubby had a big event as well....He got a TATTOO! It may seem kind of trivial to many, but for us it was a big decision. It is there FOREVER, well at least until he leaves this earth...when he is 105 :) He knew he wanted something that reflected his spiritual journey...something that could help others question him and he could open that door for sharing God's word. He went with his friend from our Growth Group from church and they "manned (sp?) up" together. Robbie also got something that was meaningful to him "Make a Joyful Noise" Psalm 100. Pretty sure the meaning behind this was his reason for being saved. He loves playing in the band and when he joined his church he got a chance to be a part of that and brought him closer to God and opened up his spiritual journey. Many people don't agree with tattoos and I don't even really know where I truly stand, but we had a good discussion with our friends about what the bible says in Revelation 19:16 "On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:king of kings and lord of lords.
Jesus will have a tattoo!! Robbie made a good point as well, Jesus marked his body for me, I will mark my body for him"

"Christ My Strength"
All wrapped :)

So that just about sums it up!!
Another busy week ahead and tomorrow is Tuesday!!

Have a BLESSED week!

"But thank God!! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ."
1 Corinthians 15:57

Stick a fork in me I'm done....and is that Fall I feel??

What a busy busy week and such a productive weekend! It will continue to be busy though since I am starting BOY parent conferences next week.

So to get started from last week we are learning about matter and we got to discover and make observations with the matter boxes I made. Each table group gets a box and they get to explore the matter inside and discuss with their tablemates what they are noticing using their 5 senses about the matter. They loved it!! I really try to get them to use that science language as much as possible. (observing, solid, color, shape, size, texture etc) It was so cute as I was walking around to each group as I was walking away I heard a kid say "Ok lets be real scientists and observe this matter, maybe we need to waft it to see if we smell anything."
Before the weekend even got underway I drove up Friday after the long week to this sweet gesture from the mister!

So as I said this weekend has been really productive! We have projects to do around the house that haven't gotten done (building handrails for the deck, putting up the new light fixture for the guest bathroom, organizing the garage, painting the movie room) but we still have accomplished other tasks. the most important thing was it was my BINGE meal again!!! I was even overdue too! I am getting so good! We went to IHOP! Hubby even joined in and had some too. We had red velvet pancakes! Yes people you heard that, RED VELVET! I asked why we didn't have those at our wedding since it was a morning wedding...We also got the, always delicious, Cinnastack pancakes. All of this was drizzled with icing! We did have eggs and bacon so I didn't feel as guilty haha! I can't even describe the deliciousness that entered my belly.

We gave all the pups a bath (which is a feat with two 75 pounders), cleaned the house, laundry is done, my hubby is in the process of building a computer (loves DIY'ing himself) and did I mention it is actually COOL here?!?!? I wanted to run in circles this morning when we got out of the car at church! Of course in true Texas fashion it has warmed up during the day but still I will take it!!! I actually got to wear my boots too!
Church was great as usual! We are doing a series on marriage and I am always an advocate for bettering marriages and keeping God the center. Our pastor used a good phrase "Seek your #1 (God) with your #2 (spouse). So true!

I worked A LOT on school projects for the upcoming week as well. I will be ready for a break this evening to watch me some TEXANS football and maybe drink some hot chocolate ha! (I know its not that cold here yet but I feel like if I act like it, it will come true faster)

I made a small moments poster to use with my kiddos this week. I am new to the whole Lucy workshop so I want to be as prepared as possible. I  am going to laminate and be able to write with dry erase into the empty boxes.

I also made the "How to write a story" pieces.

I made a "Ask an expert" poster to help my kids when I can not be at their service. I will laminate it and write a child's name on each line who I have designated as the expert for that particular concept. then they can see who they need to go ask before they see me. Yes there is an "I'm done" expert because everyone know how much I LOVE hearing those words from the sweet lil darlins. :) Right Mrs. T? (you know who you are )

We will also be going into Schema this week and connections. I made the reading salad cards to model with the kiddos.

As far as decorating for Fall I could go into debt doing that so I try not to as much as possible. But I did get some really cute and colorful pasta at Homegoods (Favorite store EVER) and put it in a glass jar to have in the middle of out dining table. It's pretty Fall-y I think!

Well folks, I think that is all I can muster today. I don't ever have time during the week to blog so the weekend is overload! Before I leave here is one of my lil monsters to wish ya'll a BLESSED week.
